Drawing with pen to create line and pattern

Art Friends have produced a module on drawing just with a fine liner pen.

It is using such simple elements as line and repetitive pattern. “A drawing is simply a line going for a walk.” (Paul Klee)

The various exercises are fun, relaxing and just a lovely way to spend time with yourself.

We will outline, fill, and use pattern with a variety of dots and lines and all drawings will become alive with creative ways to move the lines around the page.

These simple exercises will help you evolve your skills to create exciting finished works like this.

Which fine liner should be used?

Generally, a fine liner with water-based ink is best. This is because the lines are more controlled, and there’s less chance of bleeding. However, if you’re buying a fine liner in order to write or draw on.

How is a fine liner best used?

Don’t apply too much pressure. Fine liner tips are designed so it can be used at all angles without the need for extra pressure.it can be used easily at various natural writing angles without the need for additional pressure.

Hint. To help the fine liner last longer, always replace the cap, so it doesn’t dry out.
