Learn how to use simple techniques to create different creatures.
In this colourful module you will learn how to create your own creatures use marker and water colour. We will make a simple chart of animal features we can use as a resource to make our animals. This is suitable for all ages, and a great activity for families.
Exercise 1
We will begin by identifying all the features that animals have and will draw a chart that we can use to create our own unique animals. We will choose one character that we will develop further.
Exercise 2
Using the character we created last lesson we will learn how to give it lots of personality but changing its position and adding water colour. We will also begin working with body parts.
Exercise 3
By rearranging the body parts made in the last lesson we can give our creature some character. We will draw several versions of our character overlapping each one to create a crowd and then complete the art work with water colour and marker.
Exercise 4
We will work on a new set of charts to help us create some fantasy creatures. Building a series of body parts, patterns and imaginative features we can now go ahead and work on some fantasy animals.
Exercise 5
We will finish off this unit by developing some of the characters from the last lesson. Legs and stand up bases along with more colour pattern and design our fantasy animals will come to life!
